| CASE STUDY - PETRO CHEMICAL |
|
The model above was created with CADPIPE software and holds intelligence in the form of attributes that were defined during the process, design and construction phase. CADPIPE uses this intelligence to generate semi-automatic 2D drawings such as P&ID's, piping GA's, sections, isometric etc.
The intelligence embedded in the 3D model is extremely valuable to the owners and operators, but they are unlikely to have access to it. Asking operators to use the CAD systems to get at their data is unrealistic due to the cost of the software, the expert training involved and the fact that its commonplace for the various disciplines and contractors to use several different CAD systems.
3D Model in ArtrA with attributes
ArtrA solves this problem by providing an easy to use 3D review interface that can open the models produced by ANY CAD system and provide access to the intelligence they contain.
LINKS TO COMPANY DATA ArtrA provides operators with a tool to link 3D models of their plant with company databases. It does not matter what CAD application was used to create the model because ArtrA will read them all - No exceptions.
|
This applies to all AutoCAD based applications such as CADPIPE, CADWorx, MagiCAD, CADDUCT etc, plus Bentley's MicroStation, Intergraph's PDS, and AVEVA PDMS; or any combination of the above.
Detailed information on all items
ArtrA extracts the intelligent attributes from the model into its database and then allows the user to perform any kind search to drill-down to the required results.
Search using attributes
When a search for an object such as a valve or a pump is created, ArtrA will find the object and zoom straight to it.
Find objects and review them in 3D
The user can visually review the results in many ways and from any angle or view. The results can be isolated, or the surrounding context can be turned off or set transparrent.
Create complex reports
Artra will create accurate resports based on the intelligent model; from a list of certyain items, to a complete Bill of materials for a line or system |
|
When a search is make for a particular item, ArtrA will find the object and identify all the available documentation attached to it.
Available documents are listed
The operator can select any of these documents and see them on-screen, without having to leave the 'session' or look elsewhere. This capability saves hundreds on man-hours in trying to locate the correct informtion
Review documents on-screen
Any type of electronic document can be attached from a PDF to a jpeg and also web pages and movies if required.
Link any type of document
Operators will use ArtrA to locate items and recall information such as spec sheets, general arrangements, sections, isometrics, vendor information... literally anything. |
